SHILLONG, JUN 25: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Thursday visited the Telangana Integrated Command and Control Centre here and said the facility stands out for its governance model, not just technology.Calling it “probably one of the best ICCC in the country”, Sangma said the centre’s strength lies in coordination between departments through technology. “We are here in this Telangana Integrated Command and Control Centre and without any doubt this is probably one of the best ICCCs in the country,” Sangma said during his visit. He added that the facility impressed him for its systems approach: “It is not just the technologies that they are using out here but it is the system that they have developed to really coordinate and ensure that the aspect of governance is improved and made better by ensuring technologies used, department coordinate and the overall services that they wanted to provide to the people become better.”Describing the ICCC as a model worth emulating, the Chief Minister said many states could learn from Telangana’s approach. “It is a great example that many states should learn and therefore I have come personally to see the work going on here,” he said.Sangma assured that Meghalaya would adopt key elements of the Telangana model. “I can assure you that we will try to replicate as much as possible from what we have seen here in the Telangana Integrated Command and Control Centre and try to replicate it back in our state of Meghalaya,” he said.
