Fifth batch of adhoc regularization gets Meghalaya Cabinet approval

SHILLONG, OCT 13: The cabinet on Tuesday cleared the regularization of 26 adhoc appointees, with Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma saying the government has regularized nearly 4,000 such employees so far.

“This is the fifth batch. There were another 26 who were left out and we have regularized them also,” Sangma said.

The employees were appointed on adhoc basis on or before December 31, 2007 against sanctioned posts, but without following due procedures like examinations and interviews.

Sangma said the exercise is being carried out based on a Supreme Court ruling which permits regularization of employees appointed on adhoc basis against sanctioned posts.

“We have regularized 3000 plus employees like that in the last four-five years, touching almost 4000,” he said.
