SHILLONG, JUL 15: Shoppers at Khyndailad were thrown into panic on Wednesday morning after an unattended bag and trolley were found near OB Mall around 11.30 am.
Police quickly cordoned the area and stopped traffic from IGP to Khyndailad, leading to major congestion in the city center.
A bomb squad was also alerted.
The scare ended an hour later at 12.30 pm when the owner arrived and claimed the luggage. He told police he had left it in the parking lot while visiting the MUDA complex.
After verification, the cordon was lifted and traffic resumed.
No explosives were found.
Police have urged people not to leave belongings unattended in public places.
