SHILLONG, NOV 12: The state on Friday recorded 44 new COVID-19 cases taking the total active cases to 296.
Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said 32 cases have been detected in East Khasi Hills, 3 West Khasi Hills, 3 East Jaintia Hills, 3 West Garo Hills, 1 East Garo Hills, 1 Ri Bhoi and 1 West Jaintia Hills.
Dr War also informed that 21 persons have recovered from the viral infection.
Of these, 14 are from East Khasi Hills, 2 West Garo Hills, 2 East Jaintia Hills, 1 East Garo Hills, 1 West Jaintia Hills and 1 West Khasi Hills.
He said there have been zero COVID-19 deaths in the state during the past few days
So far, the state has detected a total of 84,006 COVID-19 cases out of which 296 are active cases, 82,248 recovered and 1,462 deaths.
East Khasi Hills has the highest active COVID-19 cases with 215 followed by West Garo Hills 25 and West Khasi Hills with 21 cases.
There are 15 in Ri Bhoi, 8 East Garo Hills, 5 West Jaintia Hills, 4 East Jaintia Hills, 1 South West Garo Hills, 1 South West Khasi Hills and 1 South Garo Hills.
