SHILLONG, JUL 17: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Friday confirmed that the state government will move a resolution on uranium mining during the upcoming session of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly scheduled for August.
Speaking to reporters, the Chief Minister said the Assembly session must be convened before August 27, as the six-month period since the last sitting expires on that date.
“Yes, the resolution will be coming up in the upcoming session of the Assembly, which will be held in August. August 27 is the date before which the session has to be called. So, the six months period gets over on August 27. So, during the upcoming autumn session of the Assembly, that is when the resolution will come up,” Sangma said.
