SHILLONG, AUG 24: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has decided to wear shirts made of Ryndia to the five-day autumn session of the Assembly starting Monday.
“This shirt is made of Ryndia, and I urge everyone to promote our own textiles, weavers and farmers,” Sangma said while displaying his Ryndia shirt.
The chief minister also urged the Speaker to dedicate a day for traditional attire in the House.
“I have urged the Speaker that we should have one day where we should make it mandatory for our members to wear traditional dress. It could be any traditional dress, it could be any day, but it should be traditional. It will be beautiful and it is a way of promoting our identity and our culture,” he added.
