SHILLONG, JUL 17: Marking the 191st death anniversary of U Tirot Sing Syiem, the KSU Shillong Mihngi Circle on Friday sealed a Masjid in 4th Furlong for alleged unauthorized construction.

The drive was carried out jointly with the KSU CEC Organising Committee under Organising Secretary Cleenstar Shabong.

During the inspection, KSU members were told the plot is owned by Nurul Choudhary, an outsider.

The Union claimed the structure came up without land papers and without clearance from the relevant authorities.

“The Masjid was built without documents and without permission. It will stay sealed until the owner furnishes all records and we verify how permission was granted,” the KSU said in a statement.

The Union maintained the closure will continue until ownership documents and construction approvals are produced and verified.
