SHILLONG, DEC 10 Meghalaya fisheries and community and rural development principal secretary KN Kumar has been selected for the prestigious gfiles Governance Award 2014 for his excellent/exceptional work for good governance.
Kumar will receive the award comprises of a citation plaque made of silver, a trophy and commendation certificate at 4.30 pm on December at Civil Services Officers’ Institute, Vinay Marg, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi.
Besides the IAS, the Gfiles awards are also given to the IFS, Indian Forest Service officers both for serving and retired. The other categories of awards are as followings:
Paramilitary Forces – BSF, CRPF Officers
Indian Revenue Services (IRS) Officers
Customs & Central Excise Officers
Indian Audit and Accounts Services Officers
Railways & Postal Service Officers
Officers of Other Centeral Services
Kumar was selected after the four members Independent jury consisting of the former cabinet secretary Prabhat Kumar, who is the chairman of the jury, former power secretary Anil Razdan and former Haryana chief secretary Vishnu Bhagwan and former Internal security secretary MB Kaushal narrowed down on his name after references were made about his exceptional works in the departments he has been put in-charge.
