SHILLONG, APR 7: Sharat Chettri of Gorkha Pathshala Higher Secondary School, Shillong, who secured 8th rank in the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination, credited his success to his parents, teachers, and his own hard work.
Speaking to the media, Chettri said, “It is a combination of my parents, my well experienced and qualified teachers and myself. The secret is work hard and to really put yourself into the work. As Krishna once said, do the work without hoping for the results.”
Chettri’s advice to struggling students is to not let results define them.
“Results don’t define you and at the end who you are that’s what defines you… Your life is yours to live and don’t sacrifice your life to fulfil the expectations of others,” he said.
When asked about his future plans, Chettri revealed a passion for cooking.
“I like cooking and I might become a chef one day,” he said with a smile.
