Shullai release schemes of Rs 12 cr

SHILLONG, MAY 22: South Shillong legislator Sanbor Shullai on Saturday released the newly sanctioned schemes amounting to Rs 12.27 crore for development of the constituency.

 

These include schemes sanctioned under the Urban Smart City/SUWP & PWD Roads-SPA Schemes for the year 2022-2023.

 

Speaking during the program, Shullai informed that Rs 5 crores was sanctioned under Urban Smart City for the 2022-2023 and Rs 20 lakhs for installation of 100 MS Solar LED Street Lights in and around the constituency.

Shullai said that Rs 7 crores was sanctioned for projects under PWD for the year 2022-2023 and another Rs 1 crores is for the construction of road from Mynsain Forest Road up to Lumparing, Shillong and another Rs 1 cores for the construction of road at Madan Laban.

He added that Rs 3 crores was sanctioned for the construction of an RCC Bridge at Kenche’s Trace from Bishnupur Taxi Stand and another road that will connect Bethesda Hospital at Upper Kenche’s Trace and Rs. 7 lakhs was sanctioned for renovation of road from K.T. Road up to Sanker Dev College Women’s Hostel, Shillong.

 

“This is the first tranche of monies to be released after I am re-elected as MLA and the funds will be released to the different Dorbar Shnongs and village councils for beautification, lighting, installation of CCTVs at strategic locations, construction of roads and other infrastructure” said Shullai.

Shullai stressed that the streetlights earmarked for all the Dorbar Shnongs within his constituency should be installed in dark and isolated places where most anti-social activities take place.

The MLA of South Shillong congratulated the people for reposing faith in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by saying “You have used your wisdom because you know very well who is ruling in Delhi. Is it the UDP, NPP, KHNAM, the Prah (VPP) or is it the BJP”.
