SHILLONG, SEPT 15: Meghalaya Chief Electoral Officer BDR Tiwari on Tuesday said the Shillong Lok Sabha by-election will be announced only after the electoral roll revision is completed.
When asked about the possible date in view of the upcoming festive season, Tiwari said the decision lies with the Election Commission of India.
“As per the communication from the Election Commission, once the electoral roll is ready, the Commission may take a decision. The schedule will be announced by the Commission,” he said.
He added that he cannot make any prediction at this stage.
