SHILLONG, AUG 20: Rajiv Gandhi Study Circle (RGSC) of the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee observed the 71st Birth Anniversary of late prime minister Rajiv Gandhi at Congress Bhawan on Thursday.
The function started by paying floral tributes and lighting of the lamp in memory of late Rajiv Gandhi.
Boldness L Nongum vice president of MPCC and in-charge of RGSC gave a brief outline on the life of late Rajiv Gandhi. He urged all members present to work for the integrity and harmony of the people of India irrespective of caste, region, religion or language.
John F.Kharshiing, vice president of MPCC spoke of the contributions to the nation made by this great leader and also mentioned in particular, the special affinity he had for the people of the north east.
The program was chaired by Dr Eureka F P Lyngdoh, member secretary RGSC and attended by cabinet ministers Roshan Warjri and S Dhar, Bluebell R Sangma, MLA, Lahkmen Rymbui, vicce president, MPCC, office bearers of the MPCC, DCC presidents and members of the Mahila Congress, Youth Congress and the Seva Dal were also present.- By Our Reporter
