SHILLONG, NOV 4: Amid speculation of discontent within NPP over reinduction of West Shillong legislator Paul Lyngdoh after he along with two former UDP legislators merged with NPP, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Wednesday said all party MLAs are on board.
“Well, we have most of the MLAs who were there when the decision was kind of made and everybody has been communicated with and there is no issue at all in this aspect,” Sangma said.
He admitted that aspirations for cabinet berths are natural in any party.
“There will always be aspirations of everybody wanting to be in the cabinet, that is natural for any political party and that’s obviously the same for our political party also,” he said.
“But what is good about our political party is that when a decision is made and when we look at the larger picture then the MLAs and everybody in the larger interest of the party will always accept the decisions that are made,” Sangma added.
He said the decision has been welcomed within the party.
“I am happy that in this case also the acceptance was there, and everybody has very happily welcomed this decision and followed the decision and we will continue to work together as a united party and show that NPP will go from strength to strength,” the CM said.
