SHILLONG, AUG 18: Health Minister Wailadmiki Shylla on Tuesday said the state government is upgrading facilities at Byrnihat CHC in line with High Court directions, even as it verifies data on reported cases from the area.
“A team from the department has already inspected the Byrnihat area as directed by the High Court,” Shylla said.
The Court has asked for X-Ray services, a technician and a chest specialist to be put in place.
“We are abiding by that. We have directed the Health Department to complete all requirements as soon as possible,” the minister said.
On the number of cases cited by the Court, Shylla said state records do not show an alarming trend.
“According to our data, it is not up to that number. There are some cases, but not to that extent,” he said.
The department will now ascertain the source of the Court’s data and submit a report, he added.
