SHILLONG, FEB 2: A lady was duped of Rs 6.58 lakh after fraudsters impersonating as staffs from a mobile company informed her that she had won a lottery of Rs 25 lakh, police said. As per the FIR lodged with the Mawkyrwat police station under South West Khasi hills district, the victim informed that she had received phone calls from Akash Verma and Vijay Yadav who claimed to be employees of the Airtel company.
Verma and Yadav informed her that she had won a lottery of Rs 25 lakh, police said.The callers instructed her to deposit Rs. 6.58 lakh, in different accounts to claim the prize money, police said. A case has been registered and investigation to nab the fraudsters is on.- By Our Reporter
