Install more ATMs at NGH

SHILLONG, JAN 16: The National People’s Party (NPP) North Garo hills Youth Wing on Monday demanded installation of ATMs in three areas under North Garo Hills district. In a letter to the Assistant General Manager of State Bank of India (SBI), NPP-NGHDYW president Kaisar Marak said, “We demand you to take necessary steps to install ATM booths at Resubelpara, Kharkutta and Medal under the district.”

He said due to shortage of ATMs at the district headquarter and its adjoining areas it is creating untold hardship and inconvenience for the people of the region.

“Resubelpara sub-division which has been upgraded to full-fledged district in the year of 2012 but its headquarter has no ATM till now,” Marak said adding “The district is one of the fully populated area and high potential in business but in the absence of ATM booths people of the region are facing hardship during cash transaction and are compelled to go to Assam for the cash transaction.”
