SHILLONG, MAY 14: The Hynniewtrep National Youth Front (HNYF) member Everson Syngkon, who was arrested and detained under Meghalaya Prevention Detention Act (MPDA) during the Inner Liner Permit agitations last year was released on bail on Wednesday.
Syngkon was released on bail from Jowai district jail in West Jaintia hills district on Wednesday evening, HNYF-Raliang circle president Donbok Dkhar informed. He was received by families, friends and leaders of the HNYF in Jaintia Hills.
On Tuesday, KSU-Lawsohtun unit general secretary Readyon Stone Nongrum and member Johny Sohkhlet were released on bail from the Shillong district jail. Their released came after the state government decided to lift the Meghalaya Prevention Detention Act (MPDA) booked against them. – By Our Reporter
