SHILLONG, SEPT 23: Two Government offices were completely gutted when miscreants set fire it on fire in the wee hours of Monday in West Khasi Hills district. According to police the first incident took place at around 12:45 am when miscreants set on fire the office of the Executive Engineer, PWD at Nongstoin, the district headquarter of West Khasi hills district.
Police said, “Fire service personnel attended the call. However as the information was received late, the fire fighters could not prevent the office from being gutted.” Police also informed that at the time of the incident the office chowkidar was absent.
The second incident took place at around 2:30 am when miscreants set fire to the Khadi office. The office was completely gutted due to delayed information. Interestingly in this office also the chowkidar was not present when the fire took place. Police are still investigating both the incidents.- By Our Reporter
