SHILLONG, APR 7: Gorkha Pathshala Higher Secondary School Principal Amit Thapa has expressed his elation after the institution topped the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations.
Speaking to the media, Thapa said: “I am still lost for words. It is really a victory day for the Gorkha Pathshala family. For the first time, our student has achieved top position in the SSLC board exams and two other students have achieved 7th and 8th position.”
Thapa credited the school’s success to the joint efforts of dedicated teachers and devoted students.
“I say it is the joint efforts of my dedicated teachers, my devoted students… everything was done. Maybe that’s what has resulted in this result,” he said.
Thapa expressed pride in the school’s performance, saying, “I have never felt that our school was second to any other schools… We have a team of dedicated teachers who have always been working hard.”
The school is celebrating its 150th year, and Thapa called the achievement a “gift” for this milestone year.
“I couldn’t have anything better than this gift from our students in this historic year,” he added.
Thapa hopes the achievement will motivate future batches.
“I think it will motivate my students… We feel that we are second to none,” he said, expressing his happiness as being “on top of the world.”
