SHILLONG, APR 8: In a freak accident, twenty-eight students of St Magareth Higher Secondary School located at peachland in Laitumkrah, fell down from the stairs of the first floor and were rushed to the Nazareth hospital with injuries.  Four of the students are stated to be serious and are now in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The school principal Marina Thomas told this website that the incident happened around noon when the students came out of their class to have their lunch. She said, “One of the students fell from the steps of the first floor and the other did not pay attention, thereby tripping all the other students who were coming down the stairs.”
