SHILLONG, NOV 8: Meghalaya government chief adviser DD Lapang had a long discussion with chief minister Mukul Sangma about the sad incident that happened in Nongthymmai Neng Lyngiong where six peoples died and also several issues connected with the performances of the MeECL.
Lapang appraised the chief minister about several problems of the peoples such as shortage of materials like poles, meters, transformers immediate replacement of rotten poles were discussed.
The chief minister appreciated the points that was discussed and told that serious remedial measures would be taken to revamp the system of working and update the standard of functioning on areas where urgent action is necessary.
Lapang had a separate discussion with the power minister Sniawbhalang Dhar and impressed upon the minister the need of advising officers at all level to be vigilant and watchful on their work.-By Our Reporter
