SHILLONG, AUG 5: Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Urban Affairs Sniawbhalang Dhar on Wednesday said an inter-departmental meeting on the relocation of Harijan Colony from Them Iew Mawlong will be held in the last week of August.
“I have already asked my officers to get updated reports from all departments. We will deliberate on this in the last part of August,” Dhar told reporters.
He said the first round of discussions will be between government departments only.
“The meeting will be between departments first, then we will call people from their side,” he said.
Dhar added that reports are being sought from the departments, Harijan Colony, and the Defence, which owns the land.
“We need to collect all the details so everyone is ready with everything before the meeting,” he said.
On the delay in resolving the long-pending issue, Dhar said,
“Of course it is long pending and not easy, but we are trying our best to solve it.”
