SHILLONG, SEPT 10: The state on Friday reported 7 COVID-19 deaths, taking the total death toll to 1,346 in the state.
According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, 5 were reported from East Khasi Hills district and one each from West Jaintia Hills district and South West Khasi Hills district.
Dr War said the state has also detected 188 new COVID-19 cases.
These include 101 in East Khasi Hills, 44 West Khasi Hills, 3 West Garo Hills, 17 Ri Bhoi, 12 West Jaintia Hills, 2 East Garo Hills, 0 North Garo Hills, 2 East Jaintia Hills, 0 South Garo Hills, 6 South West Khasi Hills and 1 South West Garo Hills.
Dr War also informed that 144 persons have recovered from the viral infection.
Of these, 87 East Khasi Hills, 7 West Garo Hills, 9 West Jaintia Hills, 24 West Khasi Hills, 6 East Garo Hills, 1 North Garo Hills, 0 South Garo Hills, 1 South West Garo Hills, 3 East Jaintia Hills, 3 Ri Bhoi and 3 South West Khasi Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 77,877 COVID-19 cases out of which 2,007 are active cases, 74,524 recovered and 1,346 deaths.
With 924 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by West Khasi Hills with 414 cases and Ri Bhoi with 178.
There are 223 in West Jaintia Hills, 82 West Garo Hills, 118 South West Khasi Hills, 36 East Jaintia Hills, 10 North Garo Hills, 14 East Garo Hills, 6 South West Garo Hills and 2 South Garo Hills.
