SHILLONG, APR 8: Assembly Speaker Thomas A. Sangma conducted a high-level inspection of the new Assembly building construction site at Mawdiangdiang on Wednesday.
Accompanied by a delegation of senior officials and technical experts, the Speaker personally assessed the quality and pace of work as the landmark project nears its final stages of completion.
During the site visit, Sangma expressed thorough satisfaction with the steady progress, noting that the construction is moving smoothly in accordance with established timelines.
The Speaker’s team focused on several critical components of the site, including the main hall’s structural work and the integration of essential utilities.
The inspection delegation included Malthus S. Sangma, Secretary; Dr. Andrew Simons, Advisor (Legislation); as well as Raja Kharpuri Deputy Secretary, senior officers, and engineers from the Public Works Department (PWD).
They were joined by the project’s chief architects and contractors to discuss technical nuances and address any potential bottlenecks on-site.
Sangma reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring the project’s timely delivery, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between various line departments.
