SHILLONG, AUG 20: The state government has decided to close down all entry points to the state in the first week of every month from September to November.
After the review meeting on Thursday, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said, “We have decided that to close down the entry points to the state from September 1 to 7, meaning every first week of every month for three months up to November.”
He said the decision was taken to reduce the burden on the frontline workers, who are posted at the designated entry points.
The deputy chief minister also appealed to all returnees to reschedule their plans of coming to the state during this period.
“Therefore, I request those returnees not to come back to the state during the first week of every month till November,” Tynsong said.
