SHILLONG, MAY 5: In its third round of regularisation, the State Cabinet has cleared the absorption of 98 adhoc employees who were appointed before December 31, 2007, Cabinet Minister and MDA spokesperson Wailadmiki Shylla said on Tuesday.

“The state cabinet has approved regularisation of adhoc employees appointed before December 31, 2007. This is the third batch,” Shylla said after the meeting.

Of the 98 employees, 55 are from the Health Department while the rest are spread across other departments.

“This time the number which came to us for the regularization is 98. They are from different departments and majority are from health department. There are 55 of them from health department,” he said.

Responding to queries on whether the move would strain state finances, Shylla said there is no additional implication.

He explained that the employees are already in sanctioned posts and receiving government scale pay.

“You should understand they are already working in a sanctioned post, so they are already drawing scale pay as government employees but it is just that the appointment during that time was on adhoc basis,” he said.

“Therefore, there is no financial implication as we are just regularizing their services,” Shylla added.
