SHILLONG, JUL 31: The Meghalaya Legislative Assembly will convene its Autumn Session for five days from August 24 to 28. The Business Advisory Committee approved the calendar on Friday.
Speaker Thomas A Sangma said the BAC unanimously cleared the schedule.
The meeting was attended by Deputy CM Prestone Tynsong, LoP Mukul M Sangma, Opposition Chief Whip Charles Pyngrope, Assembly Secretary Malthus S Sangma and other members.
“The BAC has unanimously agreed to the proposed calendar for the Autumn Session,” Sangma said.
Of the five days, 3 days are earmarked for government business and 2 days for private members’ business.
Addressing concerns over the brief sitting, the Speaker said he would ensure adequate time for all members.
“Allotment of time is always an important issue. I will try my best to accommodate all members and ensure every member gets an opportunity to express their concerns on the floor of the House,” he added.
