SHILLONG, OCT 27: A Technical Workshop on Post Harvest Management and Market Linkages of Coffee was held today at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah.
The programme was jointly organized by the Coffee Board, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, Meghalaya Basin Development Authority (MBDA) and Soil & Water Conservation Department, Government of Meghalaya.
Soil & Water Conservation Minister, RV Lyngdoh graced the plenary session as Chief Guest.
Addressing the gathering, Lyngdoh said that coffee farming is one of the sources of income for the coffee growers in the State. He hoped that through this workshop, coffee growers will be sensitized on the important aspects of coffee plantation which will help them to further increase the productivity and income for a sustainable livelihood.
Director, NRM, MBDA, RRBR Thabah, Joint Director (Extension), Coffee Board, NER, Dr VG Gudde Gowda, officials from the Soil & Water Conservation Department, MBDA and Coffee Board was also present during the function.
