SHILLONG, JUNE 29: Two women were arrested after they were caught selling cannabis in the city on Monday.
The checking was conducted after the police got intelligence inputs that some women were selling cannabis in the city and the police zeroed down on the two women selling the cannabis behind the tourist taxi stand
The police special party from Sadar police station conducted a checking and caught the two ladies while selling cannabis.
East Khasi hills SP (city) Vivek Syiem said the cannabis were packed in papers and the two women tried to sell them behind the tourist taxi stand at Police Bazaar.
The accused have been identified as Smilda Nongbet (50) of Tyrsad village and Rolin Nongseij (51) of Mawngap Mawsmai village, Syiem informed. Around 2.4 kg of cannabis worth Rs 2000 were seized from their possession.- By Our Reporter
