SHILLONG, JUNE 15: In a shocking incident, a woman was injured when she was attacked by a miscreant who came to her house in disguised of being a vendor and robbed gold ornaments after cutting her ears and fingers.
The incident took place at Smit village on Wednesday evening when the accused vendor who was selling plastic bucket took advantage on seeing the 55-year-old woman was all alone in her home.
SP (City) Vivek Syiem said the lady identified as Ialinda Warshong has been admitted in a city hospital and is still undergoing medical treatment.
Informing that a case has been registered, he said that police are on the job to identify and nab the culprit.
The SP said that they would also hold a meeting with the local headman to discuss on the matter especially on measures needed to ensure such incident do not take place in the future.
