Water reaches treatment plant in GSWSS-III project: Minister

SHILLONG, APR 9: The Greater Shillong Water Supply Scheme (GSWSS)-III is nearing completion, with water already reaching the treatment plant, Public Health Engineering (PHE) Minister Marcuise N Marak announced on Thursday.
“The pumping from phase-III, from the damsite is already completed and it has been successfully tested recently, and water has reached the treatment plant,” Marak told reporters, adding that work is still pending on the distribution side, including laying of pipes.
However, the Minister expressed optimism that the project would be completed soon, citing good response from localities.
“Some of the localities are still pending, but we are hoping to complete it,” Marak said.
