Warning on objectionable SMS

SHILLONG, FEB 12: In view of the objectionable messages on Short Message Service (SMS) being transmitted by some individuals with vested interests in the ensuing election thereby violating the provisions of Election Law, Model Code of Conduct and the directions and instructions issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI),  East Garo Hills Superintendent of Police (DSB), RTG Momin, had warned that the Police authority will initiate action against the sender of such messages.

In a press release issued in this regard, the individuals and parties receiving such messages had been advised to forward such messages along with the number of the sender to the Police Control Room phone number 03658-220390 and 9402324646(Whatsapp) to enable the police to trace the original sender of the messages.
