An impressive programme to mark the district-level launch of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in South West Garo Hills was organized by the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), at MFC, Ampati on Wednesday.
It may be mentioned here that the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is a nationwide outreach initiative aimed at informing and empowering citizens about the Central Government’s flagship schemes and programmes. The goal of the Yatra is to raise awareness and facilitate the delivery of welfare schemes benefits. It is a part of the Hamara Sankalp Viksit Bharat campaign, focusing on reaching the vulnerable population, disseminating information, learning from citizens and enrolling potential beneficiaries.
Several Government schemes are integral to this initiative, including Ayushman Bharat-PMJAY, PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, PM Awas Yoyana, PM Ujjwala Yojana, PM Vishwakarma, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, Kisan Credit Card, Poshan Abhiyan, Jal Jeevan Mission, SVAMITVA, Jan Dhan Yojana and others.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, South West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner R.P. Marak said that the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is a good initiative as most people in the rural areas are not aware of the various welfare schemes meant for their benefit. Informing that Agriculture is the Nodal department, he said that the district will be targeting 540 villages under this campaign and highlighted the action plan and activities to be taken up at the block and VEC levels. He also stressed the importance of Aadhar seeding of all beneficiaries for availing full benefit of welfare schemes.
Earlier, the ADC & PD, DRDA, R.Z.D. Shira, who is also the District Nodal Officer for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, highlighted on the objectives of the programme as well as the activities and outreach programs to be conducted in the coming days and called for all the line departments to converge and interface with the people during such activities. Later, he also led the gathering in taking the “Hamara Viksit Sankalp Bharat Yatra” pledge.
During the event, best performers under NRLM, Anganwadi workers under ICDS and beneficiaries were felicitated, while some of the beneficiaries shared their personal experiences of availing certain schemes and benefits in “Meri Kahaani Meri Zubaani” part of the program.
As part of the event various line departments and agencies set up stalls at the venue for providing on spot services and awareness camps for the beneficiaries.
