MEPA condemns

SHILLONG, NOV 23: Meghalaya Editors’ and Publishers’ Association (MEPA) has expressed shock and disbelief at the burning of a press vehicle (Maruti Car) belonging to Khasi daily Kynjatshai at Riatsamthiah at around 3.30 am on Wednesday by some miscreants. MEPA strongly condemns the criminal act perpetrated by some miscreants or disgruntle elements who took the law into their owns hands by burning the vehicles without any rhyme or reasons.

MEPA, however, appeals to those responsible to desist from such acts in future as such illegal acts are barbaric which are not in keeping with civilized society, a statement said. It also calls upon those responsible not to take recourse to such acts but to approach the owners of the press vehicle in an appropriate polite manner if he has any grievances.-
