SHILLONG, DEC 9: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma will inaugurate the entry point at Umling in Ri Bhoi district on December 16.
“I will be inaugurating the Umling entry point on December 16,” Sangma told reporters after meeting the Governor, Satya Pal Malik on Wednesday evening.
He said as the state is going to start reopening the tourism sector from December 21, the entry-point will also be reactivated.
The chief minister also announced that the first direct flight from Delhi to Shillong will also start from December 21.
“The airlines have confirmed and we are hopeful that the flight will start on December 21 and it will also be there on 23rd. We will also ensure that at least once or upto twice a week the flight from Delhi to Shillong will be operational,” he said.
According to the chief minister, it is not a small flight but is a 72-seater flight.
