SHILLONG, JULY 30: The West Garo hills police shot dead a ULFA militant Tuesday during an encounter with the GNLA at a village in Rongkhugre, Dobasipara village in West Garo hills district. The encounter took place at around 1pm. The ULFA militant who was with the GNLA died of bullet injuries.
The police manage to identify the ULFA militant Sanjit Rabha with the help of a GNLA ultra who had been arrested earlier.
Police said Rabha was an expert in making IED and planting it and he was with the GNLA to help the Garo based militants’ outfit.
Two pistols, one RDX bomb, demand notes and ammunition were recovered from his possession by the police. Police operation is continuing.- By Our Reporter
