SHILLONG, JUN 11: After much criticism the University Grants Commission (UGC) has finally constituted an “Expert Committee” to conduct an enquiry into the allegations leveled against the controversial Chandra Mohan Jha (CMJ) University in the state.
The constitution of the committee came three days after the visit of union human resources development minister MM Pallam Raju to Meghalaya.
The UGC has issued a public notice on Monday that an ‘Expert Committee’ has been constituted to look into the allegations which has been raised against the varsity in “entirety”.
According to the notice, the UGC had informed that Meghalaya governor RS Mooshahary, in his capacity as visitor to the university, who had initiated actions against the CMJ University for “irregularities” committed by the institute.- By Our Reporter
