UDP leader and cabinet minister Paul Lyngdoh on Wednesday said the party is not a member of the BJP-led North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA).
Speaking to reporters, Lyngdoh said, “No, we are not in NEDA. NEDA has not met in a very long time, I don’t even know whether it is still in existence or not.”
He said there is no question of UDP being part of NEDA. Lyngdoh said, “As part of our manifesto, there is an emphasis on our opposition to Hindutva as an ideology. We have also advocated that funding for Christian missionaries from overseas sources should be allowed. We have also spoken against the atrocities committed against Christians throughout India. So that’s our stand.”
