SHILLONG, MAR 20: Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said that Meghalaya will keep border areas peaceful during Assam’s election, with district teams instructed to coordinate directly with their counterparts across the interstate frontier.
“Security will be okay. We will make sure that people of our state are safe, are peaceful and security will always be there,” Tynsong told reporters on Friday.
“I am very sure even from the Assam side, these people will also be secure and will be okay.”
He said the state has “already instructed all the deputy commissioners to be in touch with their counterparts in all the districts especially in the border area.”
