Two GNLA militants arrested

SHILLONG, NOV 20: The Tura police arrested two hardcore Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) militants from Tura  town on Wednesday.  Two militants have been identified as Goera  D Sangma (27)  and  Sengsal R Marak (22). The  arrest of these two militants have come few weeks after five police personnel were shot dead by suspected militants in in South Garo Hills earlier this month. Police recovered two pistol, two magazines, six rounds of cartridges and mobile phones. The militants had come to Tura with the purpose of extorting and also kidnapping some persons, police said. – By Our Reporter
