SHILLONG, APR 10: The Additional Deputy Commissioner and CEO, DDMA, East Khasi Hills District has informed that a three day Training of Trainers (TOT) programme on Psychosocial Care in Disasters organized by the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), East Khasi Hills held at St. Anthony’s College, Shillong concluded recently.
The workshop was conducted by the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, (Institute of National Importance), Bengalaru under the aegis of the USAID-MHA-UNDP partnership project titles, “Developing Resilient Cities through Risk Reduction in the context of Disasters and Climate Change” which is being implemented in Shillong.
A total of 33 participants from various government and non-government agencies were trained to become Master Trainers in the field of psychosocial care who in turn would capacitate their respective departmental staff on the topic. Such trained people would be able to render their services in the area of psychosocial care in the event of disaster in the city and neighbouring areas.
