SHILLONG, SEPT 29: three AMEF militants were recently killed during a gun battle at Weikut area under South West Khasi hills district. The bodies of the militants were taken to Mawkyrwat CHC for conducting necessary formalities.
South West Khasi hills SP has informed that on October 21 at around 3:30 pm an exchange of fire took place between AMEF militants and the police team at Weikut when the militants fired at approaching police team and on retaliation by the police in self defence killed the three AMEF cadres were killed.
The SP said the dead bodies were taken to Mawkyrwat CHC for conducting necessary formalities. Out of the three bodies, two have been identified by the relatives while one dead body is still lying at Mawkyrwat CHC morgue for identification.
The informed that the dead body still unidentified is of a male aged about 25-30 years and about 5.5 feet in height, fair complexion, having beard and moustache, wearing black coloured T-shirt and blue coloured jeans pant.
The body has three tattoo marks, one written SONIA on left hand, XMY on right thigh and MIKACHI on the back.
The SP has requested family members and relatives, if any, to come forward for identification of the dead body from Mawkyrwat CHC morgue.- By Our Reporter
