Theft in Shillong Raj Bhavan

Shillong, August 11: About forty solar panel plates meant for the kitchen garden of the Raj Bhavan which were supposed to be utilized during the official function hosted by Governor RS Mooshahary during the Independence Day have been stolen.

The solar plates were installed in the kitchen garden as part of the 30 KW solar power project. Of the 140 plates, forty of it went missing last night and an FIR has been lodged with the police. The police are investigating the case

HBL Power System Ltd is the implementing agency of this solar power project. The forty plates cost is estimated at Rs 6, 19,200.

The project which began in July last year was schedule to be completed before the Independence Day celebration. – By Our Reporter
