SHILLONG, MAR 30: A lower court on Thursday granted bail to suspended senior police official Gabriel K Iangrai.
This was confirmed by his advocate P Yobin.
“The district and sessions court granted bail in two cases yesterday and two cases today, and earlier, he was given bail in other cases,” Yobin said.
Iangrai was arrested on November 2, last year by the CID sleuths following a raid conducted at his residence at Shyiap, Golflink.
A case was registered on October 28, 2022 based on the allegation of misappropriation of funds in the construction of NERS PSAP facility at Sadar PS Complex.
Prior to this, a probe team headed by Inspector General (Law and Order) Mukesh Kumar Singh had found Iangrai’s alleged involvement in procurement of 29 vehicles when he was holding the post of Assistant Inspector-General of Police (Administration).
