Suspected informer killed

SHILLONG, AUG 10: Suspected GNLA militants gunned down one Simon Sangma on Friday night at Koksi Nengsat village located in East Garo Hills district. Police said that the militants killed Sangma because they suspected him to be a police informer.The incident took place in the cover of the dark. Police said that four suspected GNLA militants went to the house of Sangma and knocked on the door. When he opened, the four militants dragged him to an isolated place nearby and shot him. After shooting him, the four militants fled under the cover of darkness. As soon as police learned about the killing they rushed to the spot. Police found fifteen exhausted cartridges from the spot where Sangma was killed.- By Our Reporter
