State records zero COVID deaths

SHILLONG, OCT 26: The state on Tuesday recorded yet another zero COVID-19 death even as the total number of deaths stood at 1,446 in the state.

 

Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said the state has detected 31 new COVID-19 cases. These include 25 in East Khasi Hills and 1 each in North Garo Hills, Ri Bhoi, South West Khasi Hills, West Garo Hills, West Khasi Hills and West Jaintia Hills.

 

Dr War also informed that 89 persons have recovered from the viral infection.

 

Of these, 57 are from East Khasi Hills, 19 West Khasi Hills, 7 West Jaintia Hills, 5 Ri Bhoi and 1 North Garo Hills.

 

So far, the state has detected a total of 83,415 COVID-19 cases out of which 529 are active cases, 81,440 recovered and 1,446 deaths.

 

With 332 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by West Khasi Hills with 93 cases and West Jaintia Hills 43.

 

There are 29 in Ri Bhoi, 13West Garo Hills, 7 East Garo Hills,  3 East Jaintia Hills, 3 South West Garo Hills, 2 South West Khasi Hills, 2 North Garo Hills, and 2 South Garo Hills.
