SSLC: St Mary’s bags 6, Anthony’s only 2

SHILLONG, MAY 23:  St Mary’s Higher Secondary School bagged six positions in the list of the first twenty positions in the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) declared by the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE) on Thursday. 2013, however, proved to be bit unlucky for St Anthony’s Higher Secondary School as it manage to get only two positions which is comparatively a dismal performance as the school had the reputation of bagging more positions.

Purba Mazumdar of St. Mary’s HS School topped the list of the first twenty in the SSLC result as she manage to obtain 568 marks followed closely by Megha Manjari  of St. Zavier’s Secondary School of Tura as she scored 563 marks.

The percentage of students who passed in the SSLC examination stands at 56.31 percent with female students ahead of their male counterparts with 52.18 percent against the male percentage of 51. 91. However among the regularly candidates, male percentage at 85.67 is better than the female percentage of 84.56.

However the female percentage at 20.58 is better than the male percentage of 17.21 in the private category without test.  But in the private category with test the male percentage is better at 52.84 against the female with 84.56.
