SHILLONG, APR 23: “All children have the right to access health services,” said S.K. Sunn, MLA, Mawphlang Constituency while launching the Special Intensified Mission Indradhanush Programme under Gram Swaraj Abhiyan for East Khasi Hills District at Dorbar Hall Mawngap, Mawkharshiing, under Mawphlang C&RD Block.
The programme was organised by the Office of the District Medical and Health Officer, East Khasi Hills.
The Department of Health & Family Welfare will conduct three rounds of Mission Indradhanush in the State.
The first round is from April 23 to 27, second round from May 21 to 25, and the third round from June 18 to 22.
Speaking on the occasion, Sunn informed that 283 villages have been selected in the East Khasi Hills District for implementation of Special Intensified MissionIndradhanush with the objective to achieve 90% fully immunization coverage for children up to the age of two years and pregnant women.
He also urged the parents of children less than 2 years of age and pregnant women who are unimmunized or partially immunized to come forward and avail theservices provided free of cost at all public health facilities under the Government’s Universal Immunization programme.
During the programme, the Chief Guest also handed over gifts to fully immunized children.
