SHILLONG, SEPT 18: Social activist Joannes Lamare along with three persons were arrested for alleged seeking help from the NSCN IM for forming a new militant group in Meghalaya.
He was intercepted while returning from Dimapur Hebron Camp, police sources informed.
A case has been registered with the Mawlai police station case under Section of 54(9)2021 U/S 120B/121/121A/34 IPC, they said.
Lamare was arrested from Umiam viewpoint on Thursday afternoon. His vehicle (ML 05 J 6983) was also seized.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Lamare and the three others have gone to Dimapur to seek guidance from top leaders of the NSCN(IM) at the Camp Heron.
The other three include Vicky Mawnai (30) of Saitsohpen Sohra, Everpesrl Mawsor (34) of Rengmaw, Shallang (West Khasi Hills) and Aloysius Syiemlieh of Wahkalier Sohra.
