Shillong, August 31: Meghalaya urban affairs minister Ampareen Lyngdoh has become a target of a “threatening message” which she received in her mobile before she landed in Kolkata in August 27. According to police, the message threatened to “harm her.”
An FIR has been filed in this connection, but East Khasi hills Superintendent of Police (SP) M Kharkhrang refuse to divulge the type of message she got threatening to “harm her.” He said, “ I cannot divulge the number.”
Coincidentally Lyngdoh received the threatening messages in her cell phone after her good will visit to Maharashtra and Karnataka as part of the three- member ministerial delegation to study the “perceive threat” to students and people of north eastern region.
Lyngdoh said Friday, the hate messages were sent by an unidentified person, who the police are tracking. She informed that “initially she did not pay heed to the first message, but subsequently another two messages were sent from the same number which forced me to file an FIR.” She felt that the messages probably came from a male “who is sick in the head…”- By Our Reporter
